Drawn together by the Lord, the Daughters of St. Paul live together a community life that is both joyous and radical. Their music is serene and beautiful and I have found great comfort and enjoyment in it. I put it here so others can listen and appreciate the beauty and message of it.

Starting a Discernment Blog

For many years I've looked away from my faith or should I say, I have not nurtured that part of my life. I did nothing to build or nurture it. For the past few years and really the past several months, I have felt a pull towards a greater calling in my life. Since my father passed away over 3 years ago, it's been a feeling that's grown within me over time.

I've been struggling the past few months with what it is god is really trying to tell me and in what way best does god want me to serve him. I came to realize I need to write down/share my thoughts and in that way, hope to better understand what god is trying to tell me.

If one trusts in God and feel called to a vocation, that is what is important. I, for one, want to see more people answer the call .So, I wanted to know if anyone would like to participate if a new blog was created for people discerning vocations to the religious life. We would post prayer requests and prayers. We'd post on vocations and ordinations in the Church around the world too. But, most importantly, we could share our stories. It doesn't help a person's vocation if he/she keeps it inward. We must talk about it, and we must pray.

I think that this blog would allow us all to move closer to understanding our vocation, and I hope that those that do join it will answer the call to religious life. I want people to share there own ideas, comments, feelings about their call to religious life.

Please comment below Also, if you aren't contemplating a vocation but think this is a good idea, please let me know.Please pass on word about this idea to others that are contemplating vocations. I would really appreciate it. Just direct them here if they want to participate.
